Sound Reinforcement Handbook

YouTube has been an absolute game changer for me to learn at an accelerated rate. However, when I was first beginning I got really frustrated because I would watch one video of a topic and feel pretty good about it but then move onto another and would hear someone say the first way of doing it was wrong. This went on for about two years until I had a pretty good detection system for people who knew what they were talking about vs. artists who knew how to turn knobs until they liked how it sounded but couldn’t really explain why it worked. An absolute critical book that I wish that I had earlier in my audio journey is Gary Davis’ and Ralph Jones’ “Sound Reinforcement Handbook.”

This book has been a large help to me as it starts at the beginning of what sound is in a technical sense and uses those building blocks to teach about sound reinforcement systems (audio systems).
